The Jews have
NOT ceased to be G-d's own Covenant people, for He says:
"... the L-RD
Who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and
stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar -
the L-RD of hosts is His Name: if this fixed order departs from before
Me, says the L-RD, then shall the descendants of Israel cease from being
a nation before me for ever.”
“Thus says
the L-RD: ‘If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of
the earth below can be explored, THEN I will cast off all the descendants
of Israel for all that they have done…”[40]
Again the Lord
speaks by Jeremiah, “Thus says the L-RD: If you can break my covenant with
the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night will not
come at their appointed time, THEN also my covenant with David my servant
may be broken, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne,
and my covenant with the Levitical priests my ministers…”
“Have you not
observed what these people are saying (mostly Gentile Christianity throughout
nearly two millennia: the Roman Cath. Church and many Protestant denominations):
‘The L-RD has rejected the two families which He chose’? Thus they have
despised MY people so that they are no longer a nation in their sight.”
However, “Thus
says the L-RD: If I have not established My covenant with day and night,
and the ordinances of heaven and earth, THEN I will reject the descendants
of Jacob and David My servant and will not choose one of his descendants
to rule over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I WILL RESTORE
their fortunes, and will have mercy upon them.”[41]
We all can
avow that day and night still come at their appointed time and that the
fixed order of the sun, the moon and the stars has not ceased and therefore
Israel continues to be a nation before God forever.
In the day
of Jacob’s calamity, in the time of his final punishment, when the children
of Israel became living sacrifices and burnt offerings in the Nazi death
camps, their bleached bones scattered in the ground while the churches
stood passively by, in that day and at that time G-d saved Jacob out of
it and performed the words He commanded His servant Ezekiel to speak to
those bones. The nation of Israel was reborn in one day, when on Friday,
Sabbath evening, May 14, 1948, Ben Gurion declared the sovereign State
of Israel to be an independent Jewish homeland immediately upon the end
of the British
Mandate[42].
“For G-d will
save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah; and His servants shall dwell
there and possess it; the children of His servants shall inherit it, and
those who love His Name shall dwell in it.”[43]
“What will
one answer the envoys/messengers/reporters of the Gentile nation[s]? That
it was [not mere men but] the L-RD Who founded Zion, for the afflicted
of His people (in Russian Pogroms, European and Arab anti-Semitism and
the Nazi Holocaust) to find refuge there.”[44]
Hence we see
G-d regathering the Jewish people, Israel, into their own Land in accordance
with His promise[45] to gather His people
from the east and from the west, from all the countries to which they were
driven, and bring them back to their own land[46].
Moreover, the
Word of salvation is now returning to the Jewish people, to Israel, and
will bring forth a great harvest from among them into the Kingdom[47].
From them evangelists, prophets and apostles will go out to all the nations,
peoples, tribes and tongues among whom they had lived, and proclaim the
full Gospel with signs, wonders and miracles following, making disciples
of yet millions of Gentiles.
The Covenant
with David[48] is likewise of too great importance
to be merely a “type” and “shadow”, done away with at the cross. Who needs
this covenant, you may ask?
The Lord Himself
does as does the Father Who prepares His Son’s throne in the restored
Tent – “ohel” - of David. The Word says that God raises up the “sukkah”
of David, repairing its breaches and closing up its gaps which turns it
into an “ohel”[49].
The Davidic
leadership, unspoiled by political machinations, will be much needed in
the days of the final war about Jerusalem. The royal lineage shall lead
the people of Israel LIKE G-d, LIKE[50] the
Angel of the Lord. Yeshua, Who IS G-d and Who IS the Angel of the Lord
has not as yet returned. The word “like” seems to indicate that this royal
lineage of the House of David (there are many families of David for he
had many wives and children, and they have descendants until this day[51])
consists of believers in Yeshua.
The blood of
the nations’ combined armies will flow for nearly 200 miles (approx. 300
km) down the descent from Jerusalem[52], at
some areas to the depth of 4.5 ft (1.3 m). Their eyes will rot in their
sockets and their tongues in their mouths from the chemical and/or biological
weapons the nations will use in this war to wrest Jerusalem from Israel[53].
No judgment
on nations? All was done on the cross? There is now only one covenant?
