VOL. 58 NEWSLETTER JAN./FEB. 2008 Dear Friends of Israel and “Or Tzion”,
Several times I have heard heavenly “woes”, and like Jeremiah, I fear that if I utter them, massive rejection will ensue. But how can I call bitter sweet when it is unbearably bitter? How can I say all is well as evil spreads like gangrene and most good folks remain passively silent? Worldwide, the daily news focuses on a so-called humanitarian crisis in Gaza while the real crisis of rocket attacks in southern Israel is ignored. In only 3 days, 150 Kassam rockets hit the town of Sderot destroying homes, injuring several (including a boy’s legs severed off) and killing one. The United Nations Security Council, preparing a draft concerning the Gaza situation, makes no mention of the barrage of rockets which triggered Israel’s defensive response of slightly diminishing the fuel and electricity supply to Gaza. That all vital Palestinian supplies come from and through Israel, the very country they seek to destroy and threaten to throw into the sea, is inconsequential; Israel, their hated benefactor who gives them drinking water, electricity, fuel and food and without which the Gazan hospitals could never attend to their sick and wounded, must be eradicated. President George W Bush DEMANDS of Israel to dismantle all “illegal outposts” of the Westbank, allowing no Jew in this area. Yet, Ephraim, Menasseh and Judah make up this area and are part of G-d’s covenanted land to Israel, biblically referred to as Judea and Samaria. Did God say His Jewish people may not settle here? By treating the sovereign nation of Israel as though we were the 51st state of the U.S., President Bush is striving against the LORD and proudly defying the Holy One of Israel1. Unhappily, Israel’s leaders acquiesce, making Israel’s back like the ground and the street for the U.S., the UN, the EU and the Arab League to pass over saying, ‘Bow down that we may pass over you.’2 The slanted news about Israel and the so-called Palestinian plight leads the world to believe that the Palestinians have a right to Israel’s promised land. The press, therefore distorts reality and by calling it the Israeli-Palestinian “conflict”, perverts the real issue.
Here are the maps which the Palestinian Authority officially displays in its offices and school curriculum3: Note that “Palestine” replaces all of Israel as published by the PA
State-Information-Service and seen at the Arab-American University Jenin
as well as the Birzeit University.
