A nightmare scenario is threatening to unfold for the global economy that could be beyond the reach of U.S. policymakers. 

The Dow Jones registered its 2nd largest drop in history¹, plunging more than 510 points, as worries over the global economy sent the market in a headspinning fall that erased all of 1998's gain. This was followed by the highest rise ever recorded which in turn will go into another downward spin. 

The financial crisis that started over a year ago in Thailand, then spread across Asia to Russia and finally to Latin America, once looked manageable. But now analysts warned it may turn into a global epidemic. 

“This is a serious global emergency,” said Greg Master of the Washington based Economic Strategy Institute. “It is foolish to think that this problem is going to go away overnight.” 

In June, the world’s financial problems dominated the top-level talks among financial leaders gathered for the International Monetary Fund’s annual meeting. President Clinton told the conference it was crucial to boost an ailing global financial system. 

“We must ensure that the international financial architecture is prepared for the new challenges of our time, especially the challenge of building a system that will lessen and manage the risks in the global market to allow countries to reap the benefits of free-flowing capital in a way that is safe and sustainable.”

Billionaire financier George Soros said the G-7  financial leaders should have “nailed down the specifics” of the U.S. plan rather than just exploring it...

U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin has warned frequently that U.S. prosperity and jobs could be at risk if Asia’s economic sickness infected other emerging economies. The Asian crisis has caused the U.S. trade deficit to soar which, combined with a collapse of Latin American economies, might all hit closer to home than most Americans anticipate. 

The collapse of the world’s economies in conjunction with the Y2K problems may pave the way for the one-world eco-system, and for the man (government) who will create it. The following is an excerpt from my book, “The Unchangeable Calendar of G-d”: 

The European Community (also called EU/European Union) had its conception in 1974 (see "history" of EU). There is a likely possibility that the EC is the "little horn" in Daniel 7:23-26, which boasts of great things. In 1999 the EC will, in all likelihood, have achieved its unity in the financial, economic and military sector and will become one of the world's most formidable power-blocs. The EC could  be the ten toes of Daniel 2:33, 41-45. Although their monetary, economical and military union will have "iron" strength, their "marriage" will not last because of national jealousies and pride ([represented by the clay], despite efforts to create a United Europe stripped of individual nationalism). However, for a time no single nation will be able to withstand the EC, and the U.S. may have to give up both crown and throne.
