VOL. 35          NEWSLETTER           SEPT./OCT. 1998

Dear OR TZION family & friends,

Greetings and “shalom shalom” from Israel in the Name of G-d our Father and our Lord, Yeshua the Messiah

Please accept my apologies for the delay of this issue and missing the May/June and July/August issues due to a Mid-April visit with my mother in Germany to celebrate her 80th birthday. Afterward I toured with my daughter around Israel one week, as the nation celebrated her 50th year of Jewish sovereignty back in the promised land. It was her first visit ever and she enjoyed every moment of it. Following our oldest son's 23rd birthday I left for the U.S. There was simply no time to write a newsletter. Upon my return to Israel I needed several weeks to recuperate from the bad cold I caught in Michigan, and keep my left foot propped up as I had injured it terribly just before my last 4 days of ministry. The cold is gone, but my foot receives physio therapy to treat lingering weakness and swelling at the ankle.

My first week of ministry was at a Camp Meeting in LaPaz, Indiana. We had a select group of people eager to learn, with hearts ready to receive and obey. At the final service the Holy Spirit called us to a commitment of carrying the torch of G-d’s truth fearlessly, despite persecution and death1, as already occurs in many parts of the world.

Each of us was required to examine our own heart as to whether or not we were willing to pay the price of following Yeshua in the days ahead. As I held up the Bible as the Lord’s “Torch”, the people gathered about it and one by one their faces revealed how deeply aware they were of the gravity of this committment. While we committed ourselves to keeping His Word of patient endurance and not denying His Name2  the Lord granted counsel, guidance, exhortation and encouragement to a number of people through the prophetic anointing.

I want to thank all you dear, precious saints for sharing your home, food and blessings with me. I enjoyed being your guest. Let us always remember that whatsoever we do to one another, we do unto the Lord --- literally. Although we may not see Him but rather another person, it is nevertheless Him visiting us, staying with us, having dinner with us and being treated with preference, indifference or prejudice.

The Lord Yeshua identifies completely with each believer, whether man or woman, young or old. His words to Saul on the road to Damascus, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?”; and, “Whoever welcomes you welcomes Me, and whoever welcomes Me welcomes the One Who sent Me” make this abundantly clear. Also, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me ... and just as you did NOT do it to one of the least of these, you did NOT do it to Me3

Surely we would treat the Lord with the utmost reverence, preference and love, if we knew it was Him visiting us. However, when we see only a brother or sister, we sadly do not esteem them worthy of that same honor and love. And yet --- IT IS indeed the Lord visiting us! If only we could remember this! What a blessed difference that would make in the Body of Messiah

Just before my return to Israel, the Lord blessed the last service with His manifest Presence - binding up the brokenhearted, delivering from bondage, baptizing with the Holy Spirit, saving some, getting others to recommit, admonishing and encouraging with a prophetic word, and imparting His call in the presence of many witnesses. It is among such assemblies where the Holy Spirit feels truly welcome that there is freedom of ministry and the manifestation of the Lord’s Presence and power, as it is written: ”Where the Spirit is, there is liberty!”4

This year’s particular theme of ministry was “commitment” to be faithful, “even unto death,” as is written: “Consider Him Who endured such hostility against Himself from sinners, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart. In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood” 5. As His call went forth people came up to the front weeping, falling on their knees and on their faces, giving their lives to the Lord in deep consecration.

The Lord is raising up saints for the Last Hour to give testimony of Yeshua fearlessly, not treasuring their life above the Gospel. What a privilege to be granted a share in His suffering that we may also share in His glory.

The theme of my ministry for 1999 is “to be found in Yeshua; to be secure in Him; to walk and live as citizens of G-d’s Kingdom, in that authority and power.” I will teach again on the Rapture in more exhaustive detail. The Lord’s burden is for His saints to learn to walk in this truth. Hence, I will talk less about Israel this time, and more on our relationship with G-d and this world, that we may be equipped for difficult days ahead, and for the Rapture. It is most urgent for us to be established  in our status as children of G-d, as citizens of heaven and co-heirs with Israel, lest we get shaken in our salvation and lose what we have6

Therefore those of you who requested my return, please contact me immediately to schedule my visits with you (see page 8). Pray about what each of you can donate for my visit, so that with your combined efforts none is burdened unduly. According to the Lord I plan my visit for the first half of the year 1999. The second half I shall be in Israel and will not go abroad.

2 “Not to deny His Name” is more than confessing His Name. It means upholding the true doctrine concerning His origin, nature and mission, and walking in His teachings and commandments. Compromising the true doctrine to accomodate those who take offense at Messiah being of like nature with G-d, or “walking in the counsel of the wicked, standing in the way of sinners and sitting in the seat of scoffers” (Ps 1) denies Yeshua’s Name. The cross is a message of no compromise.
