In my last newsletter of August/September 1994, Vol. 22, I brought to your attention the dealings of Paul Crouch from TBN with arch-terrorist Yasser Arafat, under the heading of "The Danger of the Misleading Influence." Some of you apparently took offense at my report about one of your cherished TV star-evangelists. This I find the more alarming inasmuch as some of you rather sided with a "servant" committing treason against the King, than with the King, Whose holy cause is being yoked together with the evil aspiration of a treacherous and lawless man⁷.

A dear handmaiden of the Lord, Cosette Sullivan from San Angelo, Texas, recorded a program of TBN on Nov. 11, 1994, on which Paul Crouch justifies his dealings with Arafat. She sent me this recording without comment. What follows is the transcript of Paul Crouch's words:

"The Holy Land TV! ...Oh glory, I get just happy, shouting happy on that. We're going to Jericho, man! We're going to Jericho! The walls have already come down. Hallelujah! Hey! Hey, hey! We've delivered the first half million dollars to buy the first load of equipment, and its on its way, now, to Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv, Israel. And the Palestinians are going to pick it up and start installing it just in days now. Jericho is going to be on the air! Then Gaza city will be on the air, and it'll be up and down the Gaza strip clear to Tel Aviv. And then the next pace, when this autonomy agreement gets under way... oh people, am I going to have to do all the shouting here tonight! Hey! Hey! Hey! Ramallah is only 8 miles from Jerusalem! Do you think we can reach Jerusalem from Ramallah? You bet we can! You bet we can! We're going to have TV over the holy city of Jerusalem! If you'll call tonight, that's a new station! That's... now I need the other 500,000 dollars... we committed 1 Million dollars to get these first three little stations on the air in this first phase of the autonomy agreement you've been reading about in the paper... Remember... Jericho first, Jericho and Gaza."

"And some folks got out of sorts with me a little bit because we went and shook hands with Mr. Yasser Arafat. Listen, I'll shake hands with ANYBODY that let me built a TV station. O.K.? Get off of my case! Haha! IF THE DEVIL GOT A TV STATION AND HE'LL LET ME PUT A PROGRAM ON IT, I'LL DO IT! [People shouting, "Alright!"] YES, SIR. AND TAKE IT OVER...haha... IN JESUS' NAME."

That's what Paul Crouch would do. 

And this is what Arafat did. At the PLO's annual celebration of "Eruption Day" (anniversary of the start of it's war with Israel 30 years ago), Yasser Arafat spoke at a public meeting in Gaza, inciting his followers to die for Allah.

"We are all projects for martyrdom (shahada)," he shouted to the huge crowd. "And I say to the martyrs who died, in the name of the martyrs who are still living: We stand by our oath and hold to our commitment [of the Palestinian Covenant]... to continue... the revolution." He kept repeating, that the 100-year battle which began with the first Zionist Congress in Basel in 1897 is still in force, and that the Palestinian people must make more sacrifices.

"We hold to freedom of opinion," he declared to those who were absent, Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, telling them again the story of the prophet Mohammed's TEMPORARY agreement with the tribe of Quraysh⁸. "But there are people who will not learn from history [alluding to the extremists' violent opposition to his agreements with Israel]," Arafat said. "As for us, our history is our best teacher."

Arafat conveyed these messages in several public gatherings on different occasions at the beginning of this month. PALESTINIAN TELEVISION BROADCAST THEM TO PALESTINIANS IN THE ARAB COUNTRIES AND THE TERRITORIES, AND IN ISRAEL⁹.

This is the station for which Christians, through TBN, provided the equipment with their lavish donation.

Now let us see what the Lord did: "And the devil took Him [Yeshua] up, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, and said to Him, 'To you I will give all this authority and their glory; for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. If you, then, will worship me, it shall all be yours.' And Yeshua answered him, 'IT IS WRITTEN, you shall worship the Lord your G-d and HIM ONLY shall you serve'" (Lk 4:5-8).

Paul Crouch is correct with taken over what is the devil's. But the way he wants to go about it is wrong. Other men of G-d have taken from the devil what was his, but NOT by even an inch of compromise. When Gordon and Freda Lindsay started the Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas, they were in need of a building. The building was occupied by a bar. They did not go and strike a deal with the owner on the basis of a compromise, for the purpose of serving G-d with a Bible Institute. THEY TOOK WHAT WAS THE DEVIL'S WITH PRAYER!

Guess what? The building went up for sale. And the Lindsays took possession of it, in the Name of our Lord. The "Campus Crusade" ministry has taken over many of the devil's "real estate" that way, as has "YWAM" [Youth with a mission] and other godly ministries.

The Name of the Lord and all His work is holy. Holiness has no companionship with compromise. Never, at any time, would the Lord enter into an agreement with the devil in order to advance His work of salvation. And His servants? Are they at liberty to do it, purportedly to do His will with spreading the Gospel? 

This is precisely the reason why the Lord awards "... you have not denied My NAME..." so greatly. Because by compromising the Lord's Name and Gospel with a servant of the devil, Paul Crouch has denied the Lord's Name. He did not act in accordance with what and for Whom this Name stands for.
